Exercise is Medicine® at the Active Doctors, Active Patients Conference

Studies have shown that physicians are most effective in counseling their patients about physical activity when they are physically active themselves.  To help physicians address and make the most of this finding, Exercise is Medicine® partner, The Institute for Lifestyle Medicine, will host Active Doctors, Active Patients - The Science and Experience of Exercise.  The conference will be held November 12-14 in Boston, Massachusetts.  World-class fitness and wellness practitioners for this highly interactive, exercise-centered conference will provide physicians with the necessary tools to assess and recommend changes in patients' levels of physical activity and exercise. Highlights include:

  • Exercise is Medicine national spokesperson, Dr. Pam Peeke, discussing the Exercise is Medicine counseling and referral model.
  • Report on the state of the science of physical activity/exercise, nutrition, stress management and coaching psychology.
  • Interactive workshops on a wide range of exercise options, including resistance training, cardio conditioning and individual fitness assessments.

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to learn how health care providers can best counsel their patients on the importance of physical activity.  While you're there, be sure to stop by the Exercise is Medicine booth in the exhibit hall. For more information, visit the Active Doctors, Active Patients conference website.
