Exercise is Medicine Credential

Exercise is Medicine Credential for Fitness Professionals

“I want to refer my patients to a fitness professional, but how do I know who to trust?” This is a common question from health care providers who recognize that exercise is one of the most effective prescriptions they can give a patient. Finally, there’s an answer. Turn to a fitness professional with the Exercise is Medicine® (EIM) Credential.

The EIM Credential shows health care providers that a fitness professional is qualified to help their patients – from the healthy to those with chronic disease – get the exercise they’ve prescribed. For fitness professionals, it’s a new way to build your client base and get more referrals. Everyone who gets the EIM Credential will be entered into an online directory that EIM health care providers will access for referrals.

Exercise is Medicine Credential at the ACSM Health & FItness Summit & Exposition

Attend this half-day training course at the 2012 ACSM Health & Fitness Summit, and we’ll give you a voucher to take the exam for free. The course will not only cover essential skills, such as working with the health care system and leveraging the benefits of physical activity for special populations, it will also provide 4 ACSM CECs you can apply to your existing certifications. Certified professionals with an NCCA-accredited certification are eligible for this credential. Credentials are categorized into three levels based on your education (no degree is level 1; bachelor’s degree is level 2; master’s degree is level 3).
