The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) would like to thank the United States' Office of the Surgeon General and Rear Admiral Steven K. Galson, M.D., M.P.H., for working with the Exercise is Medicine™ initiative to create public service announcements encouraging physical activity.

As of Oct. 1, 2009, Dr. Galson will no longer serve as the Acting Surgeon General. ACSM congratulates him on his accomplishments while in office, and is excited to announce Dr. Galson as a new member of the Exercise is Medicine task force.
