“Chronic diseases are the most significant cause of death and disability worldwide. In Canada, three in five people over the age of 20 have at least one chronic disease, such as cancer, diabetes, or heart disease,” says Rona Ambrose, Past Minister of Health and currently interim leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition. “The Prevention in Hand initiative will provide health professionals and Canadians with reliable, easily accessible health information…. It is an innovative way to give Canadians the information they need to lead more active and healthy lives.”

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) partnered with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) to develop the Prevention in Hand (PiH) initiative.
