Robyn M. Stuhr, M.A., ACSM-RCEP - Vice President of Exercise is Medicine®

Robyn Stuhr was appointed Vice President, Exercise is Medicine® (EIM) at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in October 2017. She previously served as Sports Medicine Program Director at UC San Diego Health, acting as liaison to the U.S. Olympic Committee Medical Network, and as Vice President of Academy at the American Council on Exercise. As exercise physiologist and administrative director, Robyn helped to create the first Women’s Sports Medicine Center in the United States at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, dedicated to the treatment of active and athletic women. She has 30 years of clinical and administrative experience in health care including: cardiac rehabilitation, business and occupational health, health promotion and sports medicine.  

Robyn is certified by ACSM as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP), by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and as a Bone Fit™ trained professional by Osteoporosis Canada. She is a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation Working Group on Nutrition and Physical Activity, on the scientific advisory board of Connect Well - worksite wellness consultants, and a member of the medical expert board for Advocates for Injured Athletes.

Additionally, Robyn has been a contributing editor to ACSM’s Health & Fitness Journal and has written several book chapters, articles and educational handouts on exercise, health and fitness. She has lectured extensively to professional and lay audiences about a variety of fitness and health topics including exercise for bone and cardiovascular health, weight management, body image, the Female Athlete Triad, exercise through menopause, and effective behavioral strategies to support an active lifestyle. 


Lisa Dudeck - Exercise is Medicine® Program Manager

Lisa Dudeck joined the EIM team as program manager in May 2017 after spending 15 years in communications and program management for global and international corporations and nonprofits. She oversees day-to-day activities for EIM, collaborates with EIM and ACSM staff on program and communications projects, supports EIM committees and ACSM leaders, and assists with global EIM expansion efforts.

Lisa received her Bachelor's in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Indianapolis. She currently serves as an active member of the Public Relations Society of America.     


Mark Stoutenberg, Ph.D., MPH - Exercise is Medicine® Program Officer

Mark Stoutenberg has been a faculty member at the University of Miami in the Department of Public Health Sciences since 2009. He earned his PhD in Exercise Physiology (2008) and a Master’s in Public Health (2011) at the University of Miami. His previous research experience has involved examining the impact of exercise interventions in different populations, such as untrained, inactive adults, breast cancer survivors, and individuals with substance abuse disorders. His current work involves the examination of the inclusion of physical activity in the training of healthcare professionals and the development of referral networks that link patients, particularly low income Hispanic individuals, to community resources and programs to increase their physical activity and improve their dietary habits.

A member of the EIM team since 2013, Mark coordinates national and international expansion efforts and supports EIM Committees.


Adrian Hutber, Ph.D. - Senior Advisor to Exercise is Medicine®

Adrian Hutber is currently senior advisor to Exercise is Medicine®. He served as Vice President of EIM for 10 years and helped establish seven EIM Regional Centers and 43 EIM National Centers, all with the goal of making physical activity assessment, prescription and referral part of health care systems globally. Prior to joining ACSM, he held roles as the vice president of a fitness corporation and as the Director of the Distance Education Division for Human Kinetics, the world’s largest physical activity publisher. 

Dr. Hutber has given several keynotes and invited presentations about physical activity, chronic disease and EIM at scientific and medical conferences in more than 40 countries on six continents. He also has numerous publications in physiology and sports medicine scientific journals and has authored the Pre-Exercise Health Screening course (Human Kinetics, 2001). He serves as a board member for the National Advisory Council for Cancer and Exercise in the USA and as an editor / review for multiple medical journals.


Jennifer Pesarchick, B.S., cPT - Exercise is Medicine® Program Consultant

Jennifer Pesarchick transitioned to a program consultant after serving as the EIM program coordinator for nearly three years. She continues to assist with EIM projects.

Jennifer received her Bachelor's in Exercise Science, specializing in Human Performance and Psychology, from the University of Central Florida. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Public Health with an emphasis in social and behavioral sciences. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through ACSM.


Phil Trotter - Consultant, EIM Solution, Network Builders Team (NBT) Consultant

Phil Trotter has more than 38 years’ experience in various aspects of fitness and physical activity programming, participation strategies, exercise product development and health care network services. He has consulted on a number of projects with clients including Reebok, Nordic Track, Time Warner, SilverSneakers, ESPN and Proctor & Gamble (P&G). 

Phil currently leads the Network Builders Team (NBT), which serves as the on-the-ground community collaborative partner implementing the EIM Solution as a standard in health care.
