A 1000 Mile Journey – EIM Malaysia’s New Online Training Programs

September 30, 2021 by Ayman Al-Bedri, MBChB (BAG), DFM (MAL), IOC PG Dip Sp Phy (Swiss)

In 2020, after the coronavirus pandemic had spread across most of the world, EIM Malaysia found it difficult to continue conducting workshops the normal way. Adapting to the new normal, EIM Malaysia decided to switch to a more flexible approach to reach the Malaysian audience by offering their physical activity training courses online. The journey started with simple brainstorming session and ended with the development of an immersive online experience. Working closely with EIM Global and the EIM Asia Regional Centers, EIM Malaysia customized designed a totally new online learning concept.

The new website is powered by Social Media Butler, sponsored by Exabytes, and features local media content in partnership with Technogym Malaysia. Now, all workshops are offered exclusively online, including registration, viewing of the content, preparing assignments, sitting for the final exam, and downloading their certificates all in a physically distanced environment.

However, the new experience does not end there. Course participants enjoy direct online supervision by course moderators, who are available to respond to their inquiries. In addition, all candidates have the opportunity to participate in future hybrid sessions once the Malaysian authorities allow for the resumption of in-person workshops. The future sessions will be conducted in collaboration the Technogym Malaysia, a strategic partner to EIM Malaysia.
