So, you’ve submitted your EIM-OC Mascot Challenge video, but how will you share and promote your video entry with your campus and beyond to compete for the coveted FAN FAVORITE award? A master marketing plan will help spread your video and message to a larger audience and increase the amount of “thumbs up” your video receives during the competition! All the submitted videos will be uploaded to ACSM’s YouTube channel for viewing and sharing on Wednesday, October 20. Here are some ideas to spread the word about your video and the fan favorite competition:
- Reach out to your university’s marketing department for help! They can assist you in creating a digital marketing plan to share the video and rules for voting. Have the marketing department share it on the University’s website homepage and send out voting links and information in weekly emails to students, faculty, staff and alumni. Encourage them to share it on all the official university social media platforms and accounts as well.
- Elicit help from other departments or units on your campus. To achieve higher numbers of “likes,” share the information with colleagues in other departments and ask them to vote. Ask faculty members to post it to their courses’ pages on Blackboard or Canvas and even offer it as an extra credit opportunity for students!
- Harness the power of Gen Z and their social media savviness! Let’s face it, our students are lightyears ahead of us with social sharing and various social platforms. Encourage each student in your class to share it on one or more of their personal social media pages. They can also share the information with other campus organizations (sports teams, Greek life, student government, etc.) they may be involved with and have them share it with their outlets as well.
- Make sure they know they only have one week to vote! The voting deadline is 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 27.

The video with the most likes or “thumbs up” by the 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 27 will be the fan favorite. Negative or “thumbs down” votes do NOT count against a video’s positive votes. Only the votes on the EIM channel will count! The fan favorite voting will take place on YouTube. We encourage you to view all the videos and vote for your favorite.
We will award a first, second and third place winner. $300 and bragging rights are on the line!
