Robyn M. Stuhr, M.A., ACSM-RCEP - Vice President of Exercise is Medicine®

Robyn Stuhr was appointed Vice President, Exercise is Medicine® (EIM) at the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in October 2017. She previously served as Sports Medicine Program Director at UC San Diego Health, acting as liaison to the U.S. Olympic Committee Medical Network, and as Vice President of Academy at the American Council on Exercise. As exercise physiologist and administrative director, Robyn helped to create the first Women’s Sports Medicine Center in the United States at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, dedicated to the treatment of active and athletic women. She has 30 years of clinical and administrative experience in health care including: cardiac rehabilitation, business and occupational health, health promotion and sports medicine.  

Robyn is certified by ACSM as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP), by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and as a Bone Fit™ trained professional by Osteoporosis Canada. She is a member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation Working Group on Nutrition and Physical Activity, on the scientific advisory board of Connect Well - worksite wellness consultants, and a member of the medical expert board for Advocates for Injured Athletes.

Additionally, Robyn has been a contributing editor to ACSM’s Health & Fitness Journal and has written several book chapters, articles and educational handouts on exercise, health and fitness. She has lectured extensively to professional and lay audiences about a variety of fitness and health topics including exercise for bone and cardiovascular health, weight management, body image, the Female Athlete Triad, exercise through menopause, and effective behavioral strategies to support an active lifestyle. 

 

Lisa Dudeck - Exercise is Medicine® Program Manager

Lisa Dudeck joined the EIM team as program manager in May 2017 after spending 15 years in communications and program management for global and international corporations and nonprofits. She oversees day-to-day activities for EIM, collaborates with EIM and ACSM staff on program and communications projects, supports EIM committees and ACSM leaders, and assists with global EIM expansion efforts.

Lisa received her Bachelor's in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Indianapolis. She currently serves as an active member of the Public Relations Society of America.     

 

Mark Stoutenberg, PhD, MSPH - Exercise is Medicine® Program Officer

Mark Stoutenberg is an Associate Professor and Director of the MPH program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Mark earned his PhD in Exercise Physiology (2008), a Master’s in Public Health (2011), and was a faculty member in the Department of Public Health at the University of Miami (2011-18). His research experience involves the examination of exercise interventions in different populations, such as untrained, inactive adults, breast cancer survivors, and individuals with substance abuse disorders. His current work explores how aspects of implementation science can be used to further the integration of physical activity in health care settings and the utilization of  referral networks that link patients to community resources.

Mark has served as a Program Officer with the EIM team since 2013. He helps coordinate the international expansion of the EIM Global Health Network, the development of clinical and community tools, the integration of physical activity into health professional training programs, as well as supports several EIM committees.

 

Jennifer Pesarchick, B.S., cPT - Exercise is Medicine® Program Consultant

Jennifer Pesarchick transitioned to a program consultant after serving as the EIM program coordinator for nearly three years. She continues to assist with EIM projects.

Jennifer received her Bachelor's in Exercise Science, specializing in Human Performance and Psychology, from the University of Central Florida. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Public Health with an emphasis in social and behavioral sciences. Jennifer is also a certified personal trainer through ACSM.
